DFA May 2022 News

Hi to All…Happy May…Happy Mother’s Day!!!

Brother and sister saber fencers, Aiden and Abby Stockton, and I were invited to give a fencing demonstration at New Horizons High School in Banning on Thursday, April 14th.

The high school put on a Renaissance Faire and, I must say, did a very good job of it.

The Queen and her court, music, games, hand dipping in wax, turkey legs and…fencing!!!

We put on two fencing demonstrations and had many students and teachers come up to us and ask questions and just simply enjoy watching the fencing and learning a bit about its history.

David Greene is a grandfather for the second time, welcoming into the world his first grandson, Landon, weighing in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 20 inches!

(I think you all know David is 6 feet, five inches and is an epee fencer)!

DFA will be in regular lesson schedule mode the month of May. I know many of the fencers are preparing for state tests, AP exams and final exams and, for some, graduation!

DFA will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30.

Wishing everyone a marvelous May and, to all you Moms and Grandmoms, a Happy Mother’s Day!!!
