DFA MAY & JUNE NEWS:
The San Bernardino Division has not held a full-fledged sanctioned Division tournament since December 20, 2020, just before Covid closed everything down.
On May 4 and 5, Mount San Antonio College held a 2-day RYC (Regional Open Circuit), for fencers ranging in age from 8-14, in all three weapons. We had 879 fencers attend and compete!
L.A. Pomona Fencing Coach, James Chen, organized the tournament and the San Bernardino Division sanctioned the event. What a great tournament with two days of really awesome fencing!
We had a terrific Bout Committee, Referees and armoring staff, which included our very own Sam Signorelli! We are looking forward to hosting more tournaments in the near future.
MORE DFA NEWS:
We have three DFA fencers who are graduating from Palm Valley High School and off to college in the fall:
Levi Kassinove, who will attend Berkeley.
Maserati Hann, who will attend University of San Diego.
Cole Robinson, who will attend L.A. Institute of Fashion and Design.
Wishing everyone a joyous June and to all you Dad’s, a wonderful Father’s Day!!!
Leslie, the fencing coach
